Kaherine Feiel: Create the Date
Each of Katherine Feiel’s gowns are hand sew from fair-trade and vintage fabrics, making them unavailable in stores. In order to see her dresses interactive mirror kiosks are placed in wedding gown boutiques. These allow users to create their very own dream gown. Their measurements are taken and entered into the kiosks which then fits the dress perfectly to the bride. Size, pattern, color, and accents can all be customized to each individual brides tastes. Upon completion the dress can be ordered on site or sent to their username for the Create the Date contest.
After a user has created their wedding dress users are asked to upload it to the Create the Date contest microsite. Contestants use the microsite to collect things for the different catigories in their wedding, and keep track of their progress. Each item is given a certain amount of points. When the user collects 1000 points they win the Create the Date contest. The winner of the contest wins the dress they created, the wedding they collected, and their wedding featured in weddings magazine.
